Version 1 I believe was the best portrayal of the ghost scene with setting and emotion. While it fades in excitement the acting and camera shots feel more realistic through the way you see the ghost and the way Hamlet is shot encountering the ghost. In comparison to the ohers this version stayed true to the book without the special effects of Version 2.
Version 2 seemed like it was trying to hard to be exciting but lost all the real feeling of the scene. I did not like the special effects of thunder and earthquakes, or how Hamlets voice was played over his ride chansing the ghost. The flashbacks were a good idea to show visually what happened but they didn't seem like the best clips. I got a vibe of happiness while I felt like I should feel bad for the ghost and hamlet.
Version 3 while lacking emotion seemed like a nice portrayal of a modern day Hamlet ghost scene. The ledge of the apartment being the top of the kingdom, or the TV showing chaos and destruction discreetly. The camera shots of the ghost appearing in the background keeping hamlet in the foreground adds to the idea of a ghost behind you idea.
If I were to direct this scene I'd most likely use most of version 1 in planning.
